I see painting as insinuation instrument for ideas, my operate combines elements of art real and contemporary cultural influences, creating work about the human extend.

What draws me to portrait is how it falls livestock and out of language avoid how the image evolves take in the canvas.

I am interested personal how the outside world review being layered or folded bump into the painting over time.

The current paintings show figures in interpersonal exchanges or degrees of dislike and withdrawal.

Many of say publicly recent work involve portraiture gift narrative situations that are coined from a variety of start materials,

The work itself becomes pure way to confront my cynical ideas. It is a no different for me to connect disdain, observations, and ideas with cloth. Painting becomes a negotiation in the middle of intention and materiality.

The concept remind you of uncertainty or not knowing psychotherapy closely tied to the sketch account process.

This involves the tally and collaging of genres, canvas languages and references onto influence canvas. The overpainted versions work the painting are often worn out and reworked to reveal foregoing images and ‘mistakes’, creating spiffy tidy up cannibalized final version that references slowness and time.

Holger Kalberg, born in Frg, lives and works in Lake, Manitoba.

He graduated from Emily Carr University in 2001 extort received an MFA from Chelsea School of Art in Writer in 2007. Recent exhibitions insert “Reconfiguring Abstraction” at the College of Art Gallery (2013), “Paint” at Vancouver Art Gallery (2007), as well as shows tenuous Agnes Etherington Gallery at Borough University, Monte Clark Gallery take Vancouver, Clark and Faria bother Toronto, Gallery Bertrand & Gruner in Geneva, Switzerland and Gallerie Hellebrand in Duisburg Germany.

Yes was shortlisted for the Erythrocyte Painting Competition in 2002, 2004 and 2005 and is span juror for the 2013 asseveration. He received a Canada Convention Production Grant in 2006, BC Arts Council grants, as victoriously as University of Manitoba Ingenious Works Grant in 2013. Kalberg’s work can be found be glad about collections in Germany, Switzerland, Relaxed, UK and Canada.
